The Impact of a Misophonia Diagnosis on Symptom Severity, Frequency, and Expression

This PDF presents a study on the effects of diagnosis on Misophonia, a mental disorder characterized by a strong emotional and physiological response to specific sounds. The study involved a survey of 30 participants who answered questions about their symptoms and experiences over a period of two weeks. The first survey consisted of six questions answered on a scale of 1 to 5, and participants who scored at least 7 out of 30 were asked to complete a second survey the following week. The questions in the second survey were divided into three categories: severity, frequency, and expression of symptoms. Participants were also given the opportunity to provide additional comments about their experiences. The results of the two surveys were compared both individually and collectively. The study found that diagnosis had a positive impact on the severity and frequency of symptoms, but not on the expression of symptoms.

The Impact of Fast Food on the Well-being of Youth in the US

My research project focuses on investigating the impact of fast food on the health and well-being of children and adolescents in the US. It highlights the high consumption of fast food among youth and explores the detrimental consequences of the behavior. My findings suggest that fast food consumption contributes to increased rates of obesity, diabetes, and other chronic diseases among young people. Additionally, I identified negative effects on cognitive function, academic performance, and mental health associated with regular fast food intake. My study emphasizes the role of aggressive marketing strategies employed by the fast food industry and the addictive nature of fast food in perpetuating its consumption among youth. The lack of regulations on the industry is also highlighted as a contributing factor. I end by calling for increased awareness of the dangers of fast food, the provision of healthier alternatives, and stricter regulations to protect.

The Correlation between Mental health and Personality in Teenagers

According to the organization Mental Health of America, “This year, the 2023 survey found that 11.5% of youth reported severe major depression.” A necessity addressing mental health has arisen just within the past few years as researchers reveal the alarming statistics of mental illnesses in teenagers. This study uses a survey testing method to display how different personality traits affect the rate of mental health in high school students. The survey (n=50) shows a significant increase in the mental illness rate of high school students through the extensive correlation analysis who exhibited the personality traits of conscientiousness and neuroticism. However, the traits of extraversion, agreeableness, and openness demonstrated a correlation through a decrease ( r= -0.64) in the rate of mental illness. Characterization of a Potential Systematic Error in aLIGO

In this project, I identify a potential systematic error in the advanced Laser Interferometer Gravitational-Wave Observatory (aLIGO). A potential molecular influencer for light sources in interferometry is identified and its effects are predicted. This is accomplished through the modeling of redshift as a function of the distance and density of the medium. The result implies both a loss of energy and velocity during the propagation of the light sources in aLIGO.

An efficient visual virtual fire model focusing on basic phenomena

There are a few powerful methods to simulate smoke or fire (such as NIST's FDS & Smoke View), but the visual component is missing. With modern computing capabilities, it is becoming more and more viable to visually simulate fire while maintaining accuracy. I plan on using the methods of the attached file coupled with the Unity 3d Game Engine to create a simple gaseous fuel model that will focus on three basic phenomena. This model will act as a base. The three phenomena are the blue core, black body radiation, and the soot that occurs as the flame cools. An implicit surface will track the reaction zone, between this zone two incompressible flow equations will be coupled after calculating the fuel and product respectively(combined with a vorticity confident term). The blackbody radiation is modeled using a stochastic raymarching algorithm(chromatic adaptation is used ). All relevant equations and methods will be utilized as closely as possible in order to maintain maximum accuracy.

In this project I wanted to find the answer to, " Is the proportion of females with symptoms of depression greater than the proportion of males with symptoms of depression?" My findings were unexpected, and proof that depression is a serious mental illness in teenagers.
