The Impact of Fast Food on the Well-being of Youth in the US
My research project focuses on investigating the impact of fast food on the health and well-being of children and adolescents in the US. It highlights the high consumption of fast food among youth and explores the detrimental consequences of the behavior. My findings suggest that fast food consumption contributes to increased rates of obesity, diabetes, and other chronic diseases among young people. Additionally, I identified negative effects on cognitive function, academic performance, and mental health associated with regular fast food intake. My study emphasizes the role of aggressive marketing strategies employed by the fast food industry and the addictive nature of fast food in perpetuating its consumption among youth. The lack of regulations on the industry is also highlighted as a contributing factor. I end by calling for increased awareness of the dangers of fast food, the provision of healthier alternatives, and stricter regulations to protect.
