ASPIRE (Applied Science Internship for Research Exploration)
The ASPIRE program at Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory (APL) is an intensive, unpaid summer internship that pairs high school juniors and seniors with APL staff mentors for hands-on, professional technical projects. It is designed for students to explore STEM careers and develop real-world skills in a research environment. Participants must be able to commute to the APL facility in Laurel, MD, for the duration of the program.

Eligibility
Must be a U.S. citizen. Must have a minimum 2.8 GPA. Must reside in specific counties in MD (Anne Arundel, Baltimore County/City, Carroll, Frederick, Howard, Montgomery, Prince George’s), VA (Alexandria, Arlington, Fairfax), or DC. Must have reliable transportation to APL in Laurel, MD.
