Carnegie Mellon Summer Academy for Math and Science (SAMS)

The Summer Academy for Math and Science (SAMS) at Carnegie Mellon University is a fully funded, six-week residential pre-college program designed for high school students underrepresented in STEM fields. Scholars engage in rigorous coursework in mathematics and science, collaborate on hands-on research projects guided by faculty and graduate student mentors, and complete college transition workshops. The experience includes a two-day virtual jumpstart in June, a residential program on CMU's Pittsburgh campus culminating in a research symposium, and sustained virtual college-prep sessions throughout the academic year.
