Hk Maker Lab is a free, two-phase summer engineering design program for high school students from low-resource backgrounds in New York City. Participants spend three weeks in a Columbia Engineering SHAPE course, followed by a two-week Hackathon for Health Equity where they develop digital solutions to health disparities.

Eligibility
Applicants must be in 10th or 11th grade (graduating in 2027 or 2028), attend a NYC public or charter high school, and demonstrate educational and/or economic disadvantage (e.g., attending a school with an Economic Need Index of 80% or higher or qualifying for government aid).
