California State Summer School for Mathematics and Science (COSMOS)
The California State Summer School for Mathematics and Science (COSMOS) is an intensive four-week summer residential pre-college program for California high school students with demonstrated aptitude in STEM. Hosted across six University of California campuses (UC Davis, UC Irvine, UCLA, UC Merced, UC San Diego, and UC Santa Cruz), participants work alongside university faculty and researchers on advanced, hands-on STEM topics and laboratory curricula.

Eligibility
Open to California high school students completing grades 8-12. Applicants must apply to one of six UC host campuses (UC Davis, UC Irvine, UCLA, UC Merced, UC San Diego, or UC Santa Cruz). A typical COSMOS student has a GPA of 3.5 or above.
