The Summer Science Program (SSP) is an intensive 5-week residential STEM research experience for current high school juniors. Participants conduct collaborative, hands-on scientific research in astrophysics, biochemistry, bacterial genomics, or cell biology while living on a host college campus.

Eligibility
Applicants must be current high school juniors (rising seniors) and 15–18 years old during the program. Must have completed required prerequisite coursework for their chosen track by June. Open to both U.S. and international students.
Costs and support
- Cost
- $11,800 maximum fee; scaled by demonstrated financial need (free for family incomes under $75,000–$100,000)
- Financial aid
- Need-blind financial aid covers up to 100% of demonstrated need including travel expenses; program is free for families earning under $75,000–$100,000 and discounted for incomes up to ~$140,000.
- Stipend
- $3,000 lost wages stipends available for select admitted students who would otherwise need to work over the summer
