Summer Science Program
The Summer Science Program (SSP) is an immersive, five-week residential summer research experience for high-achieving high school juniors. Participants conduct advanced, collaborative research in fields like astrophysics, biochemistry, and genomics at host university campuses, mentored by faculty and STEM experts. The program is designed for students passionate about scientific inquiry and provides a supportive community without the pressure of grades.

Eligibility
Applicants must be current high school juniors; freshmen, sophomores, and seniors are not eligible. International applicants are welcome. Coursework requirements apply by program track. Must be at least 15 but not yet 19 during program operation.
Costs and support

- $11,800 (2026 fee; 2027 fee to be announced)
- Financial aid
- Need-blind admissions; financial aid covers 100% of demonstrated need for all admitted students, including travel expenses. Full aid or partial discounts are anticipated for families with income under ~$140,000.
- Stipend
- Limited $3,000 'lost wages' stipends available to admitted students who would otherwise need to work during the summer.
