UCSD Research Experience for High School Students (REHS)

The Research Experience for High School Students (REHS) program at the UC San Diego San Diego Supercomputer Center (SDSC) is an 8-week summer volunteer internship that introduces high school students to computational science and related research fields. Working 10–20 hours per week in pairs or small groups under UCSD research mentors, participants formulate hypotheses, conduct computational experiments, and present their research during a mandatory final poster session.

Eligibility

Must be a Southern California resident in grades 10–12 (public, private, or homeschool), at least 16 years of age on or before June 15 of the application year, have a minimum cumulative unweighted GPA of 3.0, and be college-bound. Attendance at the final poster session is mandatory.
