The Virginia Aerospace Science and Technology Scholars (VASTS) is a free STEM learning program for Virginia high school juniors and seniors. Students complete six NASA-themed online modules during the school year, with top performers invited to attend a six-day residential summer academy at NASA’s Langley Research Center to design a crewed mission to Mars.

Must be a Virginia resident and U.S. citizen (or Permanent Resident/Green Card holder), currently a high school junior or senior, at least 16 years of age, with a minimum 2.7 GPA.
